Spanish newspaper Sport revealed Chelsea have offered 28 million euros for Sevilla full back Daniel Alves, which were however not considered enough by the Spanish club. Real Madrid instead offered 37 million euros for both Alves and Puerta, which has put pressure on Abramovich, who however has the advantage of the player prefering Chelsea as his future club. Merengues manager Bernd Schuster commented on the rumours, saying: “Alves could be very useful for us, but the real matter is whether we really need him straight away. He is obviously a player I like though.”
