On 3rd September next Hristo Stoitchkov, the Bulgarian all-time greatest footballer and FC Barcelona's legend as well, will be in Monte-Carlo to receive the Golden Foot career award and to leave his footprints as one of the greatest champions ever on the Champions Promenade, the international football Walk of Fame. Stoitchkov, an exceptional forward blessed with a natural skill to be the team leader, was a member of FC Barcelona's "Dream Team" coached by Johan Cruijff, that won four consecutive Liga titles in the nineties (1991-94), and most of all gained the Champions League trophy (1992), the first one in the Catalan club's history. In 1994 Stoitchkov won the Ballon d'Or and with the captain's armband he guided the Bulgarian national squad to get an unbelievable 4th position at the USA World Cup (he was also the tournament's top scorer). In 1990 he scored 38 goals with the CSKA Sofia shirt and gained the Golden Boot as the best striker in Europe. One more legend will, then, join Gerd Müller and Paolo Rossi, who have already confirmed their presence on the Champions Promenade on the occasion of the 2007 Golden Foot event, that will take place in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, who bestowed his official Patronage upon the event.
